About “Back2Roots” EP
The acoustic EP “Back2Roots”, released April 2010, is the first album from San Francisco based reggae-rock band My Peoples, (formerly known as Kapakahi). The album represents a new beginning for the band, and is more focused in the direction of where their musical style is headed, using the raw and soulful elements of reggae, rock, and hip hop as a foundation. With the city life a constant inspiration, frontman Mike Dayao’s lyrics are honest, and take you to that happy place that is much needed from the daily grind. Additional vocals from Lansky (emcee), along with the composition and arrangements from Steve Salta (drums), Chris Jones (bass), and Josh Hoover (saxophone), create melodic music easy to remember and sing along with. The album is available for digital download at major retailers, and can be purchased at every show.
